Under Bench Tool Cabinets

Here are two tool cabinets I am making to go underneath my new bench. There cases are made from 3/4 ply and the drawers are made from 1/2 ply with box joints. I ordered all 8 pairs of slides from Woodworkers hardware for $50.

New Workbench

A couple of pics of my new bench I made back in November to replace my first bench which had served its purpose. Unfortunately the top had sunk in the middle creating an 1/8th inch gap that was driving me crazy. So I made a new bench out of laminated 3/4 ply and it uses mortise and tenon joinery. It has two coats of Satin poly.

Nick's Dresser

Dresser I made for my oldest son Nick. I used Birch ply and Hardwood Cherry.

Cyclone Collector

Here is a cyclone lid I recently made. It is based off of Phil Thien's design. I used 1/2" plywood and the fittings are 2 1/2" It works really well. The filter in the vacuum still picks up a little bit of dust but little to no debris or chips. I have used it all week with no loss of suction. I have it hooded up through a control box and then it is run by a 6.5 hp Ridgid vaccuum.

Vacuum & Control Box

Here is a picture of my Vacuum and the control box that all of my machines are hooked up to. I go the plans for the control box from an old issue of shopnotes.
